Crash kills 1, injures 4 in Ottawa County

A 78-year-old Toledo woman died and four others were taken to area hospitals on Sunday after a three-vehicle crash in Ottawa County, officials said.

Rayeheal Hoak was ejected from one of the vehicles and was pronounced dead at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.

Details of the crash, reported at 1:42 p.m. on State Rt. 579 and North Fostoria Road, were not available Sunday night.

Ms. Hook was a rear passenger in a vehicle driven by Bettie Naugle, 80, of Toledo. Also in the car was Clyde Naugle, Jr., 82, also of Toledo. They were taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where Ms. Naugle was listed in critical condition, and Mr. Naugle in good condition Sunday night, a hospital spokesman said.

In another vehicle were Devin Brubaker, 20, of Perrysburg and a 1-year-old child whose name was not available. Both were taken to Bay Park Hospital. A hospital spokesman had no information about a person by Mr. Brubaker's name. Richard Mains II, 45, of Oregon, was in a third vehicle and declined medical treatment, according to the sheriff's office.

The crash remains under investigation; no charges have been filed.
