A Sylvania Township man accused of shooting and killing Lasean Robinson, Jr., in June was being held in the Lucas County jail Monday night.

Charles McCuin, 20, of 4130 Isadore Lane, is charged with involuntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence. He is being held in lieu of $550,000 bond set Monday in Toledo Municipal Court.

Police allege in court documents that the suspect shot Robinson, 29, who was found naked and face down in a North Toledo field on June 10. Mr. McCuin was arrested Friday.

The police inquiry determined that Robinson was last seen alive at a West Toledo motorcycle club about six hours before his body was found. Police said he was shot in the head and dumped in the field. In court documents, police wrote the suspect allegedly "did admit" to accidentally shooting Robinson with a gun the suspect purchased "on the street."

The tampering charge was filed against Mr. McCuin in June, three days after Robinson's body was found. A document filed in court alleges the suspect removed, concealed, and disposed of evidence from a homicide investigation.

Mr. McCuin is scheduled to appear in court again Sept. 4.
