Toledo police continued on Monday to investigate a drive-by shooting that sent one man to the hospital.

Juan Ruiz, 18, of Toledo, was shot three times just after 11 p.m. Sunday while he walked in the 300 block of Leland Avenue in South Toledo, according to a Toledo police report.

Based on statements given to police, a dark-colored car, possibly a Dodge Intrepid, drove by the area at least once, turned around, and started to drive by again.

Two men, both on the passenger side of the vehicle, started shooting at the victim, hitting him and a parked car, the report states.

The victim was taken by a private vehicle to Toledo Hospital; a spokesman on Monday had no information about a patient by that name.
