Authorities are seeking information into the identity of the man wearing a New York Yankees baseball hat who robbed a South Toledo bank by gunpoint this morning.

Nobody was injured in the incident at the Charter One Bank, 1501 S. Detroit Ave., at about 11:36 a.m., according to a news release from the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Cleveland division.

The FBI did not say how much money was taken.

The man held a silver-colored revolver and demanded money from the bank tellers, authorities reported.

During the robbery, the man dropped a bag of money a short distance away from the bank. A portion of that money was recovered, although the FBI declined to comment further, said David Dustin, a supervisory senior resident agent.

The robbery suspect is described as a black male who is 5 foot, 8 inches to 5 foot, 10 inches tall, and weighs 150 to 160 pounds. The man is estimated to be between 50 and 60 years old.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact the FBI at 419-243-6122 or the Toledo Crime Stopper program at 419-255-1111.
