2 teens found after escaping from juvenile lockup
9/11/2012MONROE — Two teen girls were found by authorities were apprehended Monday evening about an hour after they escaped from the Monroe County Youth Center.
A 16-year-old was returned to the youth facility at 3600 S. Custer Rd., and a 17-year-old girl was taken to the Monroe County jail. Both face charges of flight and escape and resisting arrest.
Deputies located the girls on Bates Lane north of North Custer Road shortly about 7 p.m. after they went to the door of an area home asking to use a phone. They were reported missing at 6:13 p.m. from the juvenile lockup.
