Four people were injured, one critically, in a rollover crash on the Ohio Turnpike near the Perrysburg exit to I-75 overnight, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Jay Parisi, 20, of Ellenville, NY, the driver, was flown to Toledo Hospital with critical injuries, according to the patrol’s Swanton post. His passengers, Anna Nelson, 32, also of Ellenville, Blaine Fennelly, 22, of Davenport, Iowa, and Stephen Kaeler, 20, also of Iowa, were taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio Hospital, with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening, troopers said. A hospital spokesman said he had no information about people by those names.

The car was driving east on the turnpike approaching the Maumee River bridge about 3:51 a.m. when for unknown reasons the driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to travel off the right side of the road and overturn, coming to rest on the passenger side, troopers said.

The driver was wearing a safety belt; his passengers weren’t, according to the patrol.

The eastbound lanes were closed for about 30 minutes, troopers said.

The incident was under investigation.
