Toledo slaying suspect, 23, arrested in Monroe

MONROE — A 23-year-old man accused in the slaying of a 20-year-old man in North Toledo was in jail Wednesday after Monroe County sheriffs arrested him in Monroe, authorities said.

Tyler Watson was arrested about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday when deputies executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 2800 block of North Monroe Street in Monroe, according to the sheriff’s office. He was booked into the Monroe County jail pending extradition to Lucas County.

A woman who rents the apartment and three children were also inside the apartment when authorities executed the warrant.

The suspect, whose last address was 331 Lapier St., had been charged with murder in the death of Nicholas Linke, who died in Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center a short time after he was found shot near a crashed car in the 1900 block of Ontario in Toledo about 10:40 p.m. on Saturday night.
