Watson to appear for arraignment Monday

Tyler Watson, accused of killing a 20-year-old Toledo man, is scheduled to appear for arraignment on Monday.

Watson, 23, of 1618 Avondale Ave., is charged with one count of murder for the shooting death of Nicholas Linke on Sept. 8.

The suspect was arrested in Monroe on Wednesday, days after the homicide, and extradited to Toledo on Friday, according to police and jail records. The Toledo Municipal Court arraignment is scheduled for 9 a.m.

In documents filed in Toledo Municipal Court, police state that the victim was sitting in his parked truck in front of a store in the 800 block of Buckeye Street in North Toledo. A witness reportedly told police they saw a man get into the vehicle and, a few minutes later, heard a gunshot. The witness reportedly told police the same man got out of the vehicle and run eastbound on Buckeye.

The witness then told police that the victim drove northbound on North Ontario Street and hit several vehicles before his truck stopped in a front yard in the 1900 block of North Ontario.

The victim was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center where he died of a single gunshot wound to the torso, according to the Lucas County Coroner's Office.
