McComb man flown to Toledo after crash

FINDLAY — A McComb, Ohio, driver was flown to a Toledo hospital after crashing the vehicle he was driving on U.S. 224 in Hancock County on Sunday.

Jeff Womack, 37, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where he was listed in fair condition.

Deputies from the Hancock County Sheriff's Office said Mr. Womack, the vehicle’s only occupant, was westbound on U.S. 224 west of Liberty Township Road 136 when his vehicle went off the south side of the road, but continued westbound.

The vehicle struck a ditch and went airborne, hitting a mailbox and rolling over before landing on a livestock fence, deputies said. The crash was reported at 6:19 a.m.

Mr. Womack was extricated from the vehicle.
