Toledo firefighter treated, released after injury sustained battling blaze

A Toledo firefighter was injured tonight while battling a house fire at 3361 N. Detroit Ave., near Central Avenue, authorities said.

The officer was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center for treatment of smoke inhalation. Toledo Fire Department Lt. Matthew Hertzfeld said he was released and returned to his station.

There was no additional information on the blaze, which was reported at 7:45 p.m.
