Man from Luckey injured in crash

TIFFIN — A motorcycle rider from Luckey, Ohio, was in serious condition Sunday in an Akron hospital where he was being treated following a collision the previous day with a sport utility vehicle north of Tiffin.

Richard W. Froelich, 64, was taken to Tiffin Mercy Hospital, then flown to Summa Akron City Hospital for treatment Saturday following the 1:52 p.m. crash.

A hospital spokesman said Sunday Mr. Froelich was in the intensive care unit, where he was in serious condition.

Authorities said Mr. Froelich collided with an SUV driven by Kristopher Collins, 28, of Fremont, who turned left into a driveway from Seneca County Road 33, north of Pleasant Township Road 138, and into the path of the oncoming motorcycle, state troopers said.

Mr. Collins was not injured in the crash.
