Man, 23, indicted in Sept. 8 slaying

A Toledo man was indicted on Monday by a Lucas County grand jury for the Sept. 8 shooting death of a 20-year-old Toledo man.

Tyler Watson, 23, of 1618 Avondale Ave., is charged with one count each of aggravated murder, murder and aggravated robbery, all with gun specifications, for the death of Nicholas Linke, 20. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.

Police reports state that the victim was in his parked truck in front of a store in the 800 block of Buckeye Street in North Toledo, when a witness told police a man get into the vehicle and, a few minutes later, the witness heard a gunshot. The witness told police the same man got out of the vehicle and ran east on Buckeye.

The witness then told police that the victim drove north on North Ontario Street and hit several vehicles before stopping in a front yard in the 1900 block. He was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, where he died of a single gunshot wound to the torso, according to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office.
