BOWLING GREEN — City officials have reissued a warning to utility customers to refrain from giving information over the phone.

The city’s municipal utilities office has received reports of an unidentified caller offering to save customers money on utility bills if they provide account information.

The offer is a scam; customers should disregard such unsolicited offers, officials said. Providing the information allows the scammers to open credit-card or bank accounts using victims’ names. Anyone who has received such a phone call should call Bowling Green police at 419-352-1131.
