FINDLAY — Basic training for the public to identify impaired drivers, human trafficking, homeland-security situations, and criminal activities will be offered Tuesday at the Ohio Highway Patrol’s Findlay post.

The Community Shield class aims to enable the public “to assist local law enforcement and troopers while they are on the road as extra sets of eyes and ears,” a patrol statement said. The hour-long class is to start at 7 p.m. Participants will get complimentary license-plate frames at the session’s conclusion.

Space is limited; advance registration is required and can be made by calling the Findlay post at 419-423-1414.
