Single-car crash kills Tiffin man near Helena

HELENA, Ohio — A Tiffin man was killed Saturday evening in a single-vehicle crash halfway between Helena and Bradner in southwest Sandusky County, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Robert R. Santos, 54, was eastbound on Greensburg Pike, also known as County Road 41, west of Anderson Road, also known as County Road 32, at about 7:20 p.m. when he went off the road, according to the patrol.

He brought his 1992 Geo Tracker back on the road but lost control, leaving the road again on the left side and overturning in a ditch. Mr. Santos was not wearing a seat belt, according to the patrol.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
