B.G. police: Teen admits to graffiti, vandalism
10/18/2012BOWLING GREEN — Police said one boy “made an admission” to involvement in at least one of two racially charged incidents of graffiti and vandalism this week.
Police Lt. Brad Biller said four juveniles ages 15 to 17 were questioned about a swastika and the words “white power” written in chalk on the driveway outside the home of Louis Orr, Bowling Green State University’s men’s basketball coach, over the weekend. One of the juveniles reportedly admitted to involvement, Lieutenant Biller said.
Police said the juveniles told them it was a “prank” and a classmate — whom they consider a friend — lives at the house.
The teens have not been tied to the second incident. Chad M. Franklin, 24, told police Monday that someone smashed a watermelon on his car in the 200 block of East Merry Avenue and left a note with a racial epithet. The lieutenant said information would be given to the Wood County prosecutor to determine if charges would be filed.
