Gibsonburg man dies after being hit by car

A Gibsonburg, Ohio, man who was struck by a car on Summit Street near Chicago Street Sunday, has died, authorities said.

Robert Jones, 48, was taken to Toledo Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:27 p.m. Sunday, according to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office.

Mr. Jones was standing near the center line on Summit Street when he was struck by a car driven by Shaneka Morales, 20, of Toledo, about 5:10 p.m., according to police.

Police said Mr. Jones flew several feet before striking his head on the pavement.
