Two women were hurt Thursday when their car collided with a sport utility vehicle on Frankfort Road in western Lucas County, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

Catherine Lee, 70, of Wauseon, who was the driver of the car, and Janet Lee, 43, of Maumee were transported to University of Toledo Medical Center, the former Medical College of Ohio, after the 5:50 p.m. incident. Their conditions were not available.

Troopers said the driver, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered nonlife-threatening injuries.

Troopers said the Lee vehicle, which was going west on Frankfort, failed to yield for the stop sign at Fulton-Lucas Road and was struck by the northbound SUV driven by Dennis Ronski, 43, of Swanton.

The crash sent both vehicles into the field on the northwest side of the intersection. Janet Lee, who was a passenger in the rear seat and was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown out the back window and into the field.

Mr. Ronski and his passenger, Dawn Ronski, 42, also of Swanton, were treated at the scene. They were wearing seat belts.
