3 hurt in car-motorcycle crash in Monroe County

Three people were injured in a car-motorcycle collision on Douglas Road in Bedford Township Saturday evening.

Monroe County sheriff’s deputies said the crash occurred about 6:15 p.m. when Charles A. Darr, 72, of Toledo, who was driving south on Douglas Road, turned left onto eastbound Summerfield Road and collided with an oncoming motorcycle operated by Michael W. Hofmann, 37, of Toledo.

Mr. Hofmann, who was thrown from the motorcycle, was taken to Toledo Hospital, the Monroe County sheriff’s office said. A hospital spokesman said it did not have him as a patient.

Denise M. Darr, 63, of Toledo, was taken to Toledo Hospital and discharged on Sunday. Nancy L. Coleman, 71, of Toledo, who a passenger with Mrs. Darr, was in fair condition at Toledo Hospital, the spokesman said.

Mr. Darr was not injured and the motorcycle rider did not wear a helmet, according to the sheriff’s office.
