BOWLING GREEN — A Toledo man is to be sentenced Dec. 21 for hindering police from apprehending his brother who was wanted in a homicide.

Raul Moya, 18, pleaded guilty to obstructing justice, a third-degree felony, last week in Wood County Common Pleas Court.

He and Jose Moya, Jr., hid out in Perrysburg Heights after Jose Moya’s on-again, off-again girlfriend Leandra Frankum, 21, was shot to death inside a house in the same neighborhood, according to Wood County Prosecutor Paul Dobson. Mr. Dobson said the brothers then got someone to drive them to Toledo.

Jose Moya, 23, is being held in the Wood County jail on charges of murder and tampering with evidence in connection with Ms. Frankum’s July 22 death.

Judge Alan Mayberry allowed Raul Moya to be free on his own recognizance until sentencing with the conditions that he submit to random drug and alcohol screens, that he check in with the probation department weekly, and that he have no contact with the victim’s family or any potential witnesses in his brother’s case.
