Toledo man shot in leg by unknown assailant

A Toledo man was hospitalized in serious condition Friday after being shot in the leg in the Old West End, authorities said.

Frederick McCoy, 31, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center after the shooting about 11:20 p.m. Thursday in the 2400 block of Parkwood Avenue, near the victim’s home.

Witnesses reported two men running north on Parkwood, toward Delaware Avenue. One wore a Halloween-style mask.
