Toledo fire crews were fighting a freight rail car fire in East Toledo today.

There were no injuries, no evacuations, and no hazardous materials involved, according to the Toledo fire department.

Toledo fire Lt. Matthew Hertzfeld said a rail car full of paper products caught fire about 6 a.m. at a rail crossing at East Broadway and Hirzel streets. Fire crews arrived, separated the burning rail car from the rest of the train and doused the flames, bringing them under control within about 15 minutes, Lieutenant Hertzfeld said.
