Man shot in West Toledo Monday

A man was shot Monday near Lewis Avenue and West Sylvania Avenue in West Toledo, authorities said.

Devante Coleman, whose age was not released, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, according to Toledo police. A hospital spokesman said she had no information about a person by that name.

The shooting occurred in the 4200 block of Asbury Drive, police said.The shooter or shooters fled.

Police did not say what time the shooting occurred. Officers took the report about 7:08 p.m., according to police records.

The motive was not indicated.

There was no word of arrests.
