Californian held on drug charges after turnpike stop
11/9/2012MILAN, Ohio — A California man was in the Erie County jail Thursday after Ohio Highway Patrol troopers seized 186 pounds of marijuana and prescription drugs worth more than $425,000 in a traffic stop Tuesday on the Ohio Turnpike near Milan.
Christopher Glisson, 33, of Santa Rosa, was held in lieu of $300,000 bond pending an appearance in Sandusky Municipal Court, according to the Erie County Sheriff's Office. He was charged with possession of and trafficking in marijuana, both second-degree felonies.
Troopers stopped a cargo van with Illinois license plates for following another vehicle too closely in the eastbound lanes near milepost 121. A patrol drug-sniffing canine led them to the drugs in the vehicle, where 123 vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and 24 oxycodone hydrochloride tablets were found, troopers said.
Milan is about 60 miles east of Toledo.
