Mich. man, 65, hit by a car on Monroe Street

A Hillsdale, Mich., man ran into Monroe Street tonight and was hit by a car, Toledo police said.

Ralph McGee, 65, was taken by Life Squad to Toledo Hospital. A ProMedica spokesman said there was no information about a patient by that name.

Police said Mr. McGee was on the south side of the 4400 block of Monroe about 6:05 p.m. when he ran into the street. Kevin Kretz, 18, of West Toledo was eastbound on Monroe and swerved, but was unable to avoid the pedestrian.

An investigation will continue, police said.
