Toledo man is shot in Old West End area

A Toledo man was shot Wednesday in a neighborhood south of the intersection of North Detroit and Berdan avenues on the fringes of the Old West End, authorities said.

Cregg Green, 23, of East Streicher Street was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the upper right chest, Toledo police said. A hospital spokesman said she had no information about a person by that name.

The victim told police he was at Glenwood Avenue and Castle Boulevard and was talking to someone between 10:10 p.m. and 10:25 p.m when he was shot, according to the police report. He told police he did not know whom he was talking to, and he did not tell them who had shot him, police said.

The victim also did not offer a motive.
