Toledo investigators say a fire that destroyed a vacant house on Utah Street in East Toledo late Thursday and early Friday was arson.

A suspect was arrested, but no information was available late Friday, authorities said.

There were no injuries, according to the Toledo Fire Department.

Fire crews arrived at 11:14 p.m. and saw heavy flames coming from the house at 230 Utah.

Firefighters doused the flames, bringing the fire under control by 11:31 p.m.

The blaze was extinguished by 1:21 a.m., at which time the last fire crew left the scene.

The single-story wood frame house was a loss valued at $22,000, said Fire Lt. Matt Hertzfeld.

Houses on both sides of the structure also sustained damage, he said.

The Lucas County auditor’s Web site lists Timothy Dycus as the owner of the house. It was built in 1925.
