Toledo police have not made any arrests in two shootings reported Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

John Perez, 15, was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center after being shot in the left thigh at about 8 p.m. Tuesday while he walked along Idaho Street, near Spring Grove Avenue, in East Toledo. A hospital spokesman said she had no patient at the hospital by that name.

In a Toledo police report, an officer wrote that the victim was approached by three males, all about 16 to 20 years old. One of the suspects said, “Hey,” and, as the victim turned around, one suspect fired a single shot at the victim.

All three suspects fled; the victim ran home and was taken to the hospital by his mother, police said.

At 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, police were dispatched to the 900 block of Coventry Avenue in central Toledo for a report of a person shot. No victim was found at the scene, but a witness reported that the victim left the scene in a private vehicle.

Police stopped a car a short time later on Dorr Street. The victim, Angelo Snow, 23, told police he was shot on the tip of a middle finger while he was leaving a party on Coventry. The victim said the suspects fired three or four times at him.

At least one shot struck a vehicle.

The victim was taken to Toledo Hospital for treatment.
