A clerk at a South Toledo convenience store was shot at Tuesday night during an attempted robbery, police said.
Khalid Hamdallah was working at Express Food Mart, 1419 South Ave., at 11:02 p.m. when two men came into the store. One ordered Mr. Hamdallah to put his hands in the air and then pointed a gun at the employee. The victim ducked behind a counter as one of the suspects fired a single shot; investigators found a bullet lodged in a wall.
The suspects ran from the store, apparently without taking anything.
Police who were looking for the robbers found a mask possibly worn by a suspect and a black hooded sweatshirt that also might have been worn by a suspect, according to the report.
Suspect descriptions were not available.
