FINDLAY — Football fans headed through Hancock County on their way to Columbus for the Ohio State-Michigan game Saturday may find themselves being watched by extra sets of eyes — in patrol cars.

The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office will have extra deputies on duty to patrol the area, specifically on U.S. 68 and State Rt. 15, which are more heavily traveled on game day, officials said. Deputies will be on the lookout for drunken drivers, speeding, and seat-belt violations.

The extra patrols are funded by a federal grant from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office through the Ohio Department of Public Safety.
