Old South End fire ruled arson

A fire that destroyed a home in the Old South End Monday morning has been ruled an arson, officials said.

The fire at 659 Congress St. was reported at 3:28 a.m., said Toledo fire Lt. Matthew Hertzfeld.

No one was home at the time. No injuries were reported.

Damage to the property, which was built in 1882, was estimated at $12,000.

The property, owned by Anthony Soria, is worth $13,600, according to the Lucas County Auditor's Web site.
