ALVADA, Ohio — Two elderly women were taken to a Toledo hospital today after a one-vehicle accident in Seneca County’s Big Springs Township, the Ohio Highway Patrol said.

The driver, Marian M. Reinhart, 82, of Alvada, and her passenger, Rose M. Hare, 89, of Upper Sandusky, Ohio, were flown from the scene of the accident to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, troopers said.

Ms. Hare was listed in serious condition. The hospital did not have information on Ms. Reinhart.

Troopers said Ms. Reinhart was driving east on Township Road 56 about 6 p.m. when she drove off the north side of the road and struck a culvert, just west of U.S. 23. The car overturned and came to rest on its side.
