Bond set at $100,000 for teen accused in West Toledo shooting

A man accused of a West Toledo shooting was arraigned today in Toledo Municipal Court and was ordered to be held in the jail in lieu of $100,000.

James Allen, 18, of 1732 Westland Gardens Rd., is charged with one count of felonious assault for the Nov. 5 shooting of Devante Coleman, according to court records.

The victim, 19, of Toledo was shot at about 7 p.m. in the 4200 block of Asbury Drive in West Toledo.

He was shot in the stomach and leg, according to court documents.

Mr. Allen was arrested Wednesday evening, according to jail records.

Judge Robert Christiansen noted that the suspect has a 10-page juvenile record and, at the time of the shooting, was on a 6-month parole for a burglary conviction from Lucas County juvenile court.

He is being held in the Lucas County jail and is scheduled to appear in court again on Dec. 6.
