A 32-year-old Toledo man accused of robbing an east side bank Wednesday afternoon was arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court today.

Dennis Thompson, of 350 Oconnell St., is charged with one count of robbery. He was ordered to be held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Police, in court documents, allege that Thompson robbed Key Bank, 324 Main St., Wednesday afternoon.

He reportedly passed a teller a note and then fled with cash.

A Toledo police detective said he was able to determine that the robber and Thompson are the same person using video surveillance.

When the suspect was stopped, he reportedly had “bait bills” and stained cash from a dye pack that exploded, police said.

The suspect is due back in court on Dec. 6.

Thompson was released from prison in 2010 on an escape conviction, the suspect told Judge Robert Christiansen.
