3 regional troopers honored at posts as 'Troopers of the Year'

Troopers from around northwest Ohio are being recognized at their posts as “Troopers of the Year.”

In Bowling Green, Trooper Evan Slates was chosen for the honor. He joined the Highway Patrol in 2010. Before joining, he served in the Marine Corps. He lives in Bowling Green with his wife, Kendra, and son Landon.

Troopers at the Defiance post named Trooper Michael Dirr as their honoree. He joined in 2000. He lives in Henry County with his daughters Olivia, 10, and Violet, 5.

Trooper Jordan Schwochow was chosen to represent the Fremont post. He joined in 2006. He lives in Fremont with his wife, Kelly, and daughter, Allison.

The troopers are eligible to be named district and state Trooper of the Year.
