CARLETON, Mich. — Four teenagers were arrested after a robbery in which the victim was taped to a chair in the family barn early Friday in the 1000 block of Labo Road in Ash Township, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said.

Authorities said five teenagers, one of of whom remained at-large, robbed a 15-year-old of musical equipment after first befriending him.

Deputies said the victim was attacked and bound to the chair in the barn while the assailants stole electronics and music and recording equipment. After the suspects fled, the victim freed himself and alerted his parents, who were sleeping in the house.

Most of the stolen property was recovered and returned to the victim, deputies said. The suspects, who are expected to be charged with armed robbery and unlawful imprisonment, are a 16-year-old male from Monroe Township in custody at the Monroe County Youth Center; and a 17-year-old male from LaSalle Township, a 17-year-old male from Monroe, and a 17-year-old female from Monroe, all in custody at the Monroe County jail awaiting arraignment.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact sheriff’s detectives at 734-240-7745 or 734-224-7315.
