A Toledo woman who allegedly threw her 3-month-old son into his crib, causing serious injuries, was being held in the Lucas County jail on Monday in lieu of $250,000 bond.

Brook Ennis, 19, of 2251 Airline Ave., charged with one count of child endangering, appeared Monday in Toledo Municipal Court. Court documents allege that Ms. Ennis shook and threw the infant into his crib Nov. 29.

The boy was taken to Toledo Hospital with a skull fracture, broken ribs, and bleeding on the brain, according to court documents. A hospital spokesman said the baby is in fair condition.

Lucas County Children Services, which is investigating the case, placed Ms. Ennis’ 20-month-old child in foster care, spokesman Julie Malkin said.
