Monroe County sheriff's deputies investigating carryout robbery
12/17/2012MONROE -- The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is investigating a reported robbery at a LaSalle Township carryout.
Deputies reported that, Sunday afternoon, a man went into Fred's Cash and Carry at 12989 S. Telegraph Rd., with a "large knife" and said he was robbing the store.
He went behind the counter, demanded cash from the clerk, and fled on foot once the cash was in hand, deputies said.
Once the suspect ran from the store, he got into the passenger's side of a vehicle parked on Telegraph.
The suspect is described by deputies as white, 5 feet, 10 inches to 6 feet tall with a medium build. He was last seen wearing dark, round sunglasses, a dark shirt and pants, a knit hat, and dark-colored gloves. The vehicle was described as a dark-colored Chrysler PT Cruiser.
