One stabbing victim died and another was taken to the hospital after an incident late Wednesday at the University of Toledo International House.

UT officials in a statement said that university police received a 911 call about 9:02 p.m. of an incident at the residence hall. Officers arrived four minutes later. They found a stabbing victim at 9:10 p.m.

At 9:23 p.m., police found a second victim, "who has passed away due to what appear to be injuries caused by stabbing," according to the statement.

A Life Squad took one victim to Toledo Hospital. No condition was immediately available.

UT students, faculty, and staff received an electronic alert about 20 minutes after the second victim was found warning of a dangerous situation at International House and urging them to stay away.

The university is on winter break. International House during the break is residence to six students, four staff members, and four student workers. When the university is in session, International House, located near Rocket Hall, houses 400 students.

Police and university officials did not release information about a suspect or motive.
