A Sylvania man was killed and three others from Sylvania were injured when two vehicles collided Monday night on ice-slickened Centennial Road in Sylvania Township, authorities said.

Ronald Jarrell, 67, of Sylvania was taken to Flower Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Mr. Jarrell was a passenger in a car driven by Ronda Jarrell, 42. She was taken to Flower Hospital with serious injuries that did not appear to be life threatening, troopers at the patrol's Toledo post said.

The other driver, Ryan Hogan, 25, was taken with minor injuries to Flower Hospital, where his passenger, Nicole James, 24, was transported with moderate injuries, according to the patrol.

Ms. Jarrell was driving north on Centennial north of Central Avenue at 10:48 p.m. when she lost control on the icy road, causing the car to travel into the southbound lane of Centennial and into the path of the car driven by Mr. Hogan, troopers said.

The crash remains under investigation. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash, according to the patrol.
