Oscar Banks, left, and Anthony Rayford are being held in jail pending charges related to robberies of two downtown Toledo banks.

Two men are being held in the Lucas County jail, pending arraignment, for robbing downtown Toledo banks.

Charged with three counts of aggravated robbery is Oscar Banks, 47, address unknown. Police say he is responsible for robbing PNC Bank, 405 Madison Ave., today and robberies at Huntington Bank, 519 Madison, on Wednesday and Dec. 4.

Anthony Rayford, 46, address unknown, is charged with one count of aggravated robbery. Police believe he was also involved with the Huntington robbery Wednesday.

Police said that a man went into the PNC Bank branch at 9:48 a.m. today, demanding money from a clerk. The man claimed to have a weapon, though the clerk did not see one.

After police arrived on scene, a detective broadcast the name of a possible suspect, Banks, who was then detained at the downtown Greyhound Bus Station, 811 Jefferson Ave., by a Lucas County Sheriff's deputy.
