Lenawee County officials seek clues in assault

ADRIAN — Crime Stoppers of Lenawee is seeking information about an incident involving a home invasion and assault that left a man with life-threatening injuries in Lenawee County’s Madison Township.

Henry Merritt, 53, of Madison Township is listed in critical condition in a Toledo-area hospital, according to the Lenawee County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident occurred in the 2700 block of Drexel Boulevard sometime between 10 p.m. Saturday and 11:27 a.m. Sunday, when a neighbor heard someone shouting for help and went to investigate. The neighbor found Mr. Merritt in the doorway of his home, covered in blood.

The incident is being investigated as attempted murder.
