WOODVILLE, Ohio — Two men were injured, one critically, at 8:55 a.m. Sunday in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 20 at State Rt. 51 in Sandusky County’s Woodville Township, according to troopers with the Fremont Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.

Lucas Ryan, 28, of Islip, N.Y., who was critically injured, was driving south on State Rt. 51 when, according to the highway patrol, he failed to stop at the stop sign at U.S. 20 and was struck in the driver’s side of his sedan by a full-size pickup driven by Steve Stocker, 50, of Norwalk, Ohio, who was westbound on U.S. 20. Mr. Stocker’s vehicle spun and stopped in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 20.

Mr. Ryan’s vehicle went off the south side of U.S. 20, hit a traffic sign, and stopped in a field. Mr. Ryan was taken by air ambulance to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, where he was in critical condition, the highway patrol said.

Mr. Stocker was taken to Fremont Memorial Hospital, where he was in fair condition, according to the troopers.

The crash remains under investigation.
