FREMONT — A package that turned out to contain 15 pounds of suspected marijuana led to the arrest of a Fremont man Thursday.

Santos Torres III, 37, was charged with felony possession of marijuana and was lodged at the Sandusky County jail, where he was held on $25,000 bond.

According to Fremont police, U.S. Postal Service inspectors obtained a search warrant for the package and after opening it contacted police who watched as the package was delivered and accepted at a Birchard Street residence.

Police said officers then got their own search warrant for the home, where they seized a total of 32 pounds of suspected marijuana and arrested Mr. Torres.
