Woman's body found in W. Toledo apartment

Toledo police outside the West Toledo apartment in which a woman's body was found early today..

Officials have confirmed that the woman found dead in a West Toledo apartment is Joan Watson, 49.

Ms. Watson was found dead just before 9:30 a.m. today inside her apartment at 3118 W. Sylvania Ave.

The caller told police that she found a woman naked and "mutilated."

Ms. Watson was pronounced dead at 9:32 a.m.

Police remained on scene at 4 p.m.

A man who answered the phone for the company who owns the apartment building said he had no information about what occurred and disconnected the call.

An autopsy for Ms. Watson is scheduled for Monday.

Officials have not said if they have a motive or suspects.
