Two Toledo police officers on patrol on the city's east side were shot at Tuesday afternoon by a man who managed to escape the officers during a foot pursuit.
The officers were driving westbound in the 1200 block of Starr Avenue sometime before 4:30 p.m. when a single shot was fired and then a front window of the cruiser shattered, said police Lt. Mark King.
The officers, Matt Kovacs and Doug Rasik, made a U-turn and pursued a suspect on foot, but lost him near Platt Street.
Neither officer was injured.
