A 20-year-old Toledo man who allegedly shot into a police cruiser was found hiding under a crib in East Toledo on Wednesday night

Jonathan Figueroa, of 1211 Starr Ave., is charged with vandalism and two counts each of felonious assault and obstructing official business. He is to be arraigned today in Toledo Municipal Court.

Two Toledo police officers were on patrol in the 1200 block of Starr on Tuesday afternoon when a single gunshot broke out a passenger window of the cruiser. The officers stopped, did a U-turn, and saw a man running from the scene. Police chased the man on foot but lost him near Platt Street.

According to court documents, Officer Matt Kovacs, one of the officers in the cruiser, found Mr. Figueroa hiding under a crib in his East Toledo apartment.

It was not clear what led police to the suspect or if police were the intended target.
