Police identify man stabbed in South Toledo as Steven Gurney, 50

Authorities have identified Steven Gurney as the man who was stabbed Wednesday at a South Toledo home.

Mr. Gurney, 50, of Toledo, was taken to the University of Toledo Medical Center, formerly the Medical College of Ohio Hospital, according to Toledo police. His condition was not released.

Officers responded to a report of a stabbing at 1136 Seymour Rd. about 7 20 p.m., police said the victim was stabbed by a man who fled the scene, according to police.

Police did not say what the motive was.

There was no word of arrests.
