A house fire closed North Detroit Avenue in central Toledo today, authorities said.

There were no reported injuries, according to the Toledo fire department. Occupants had escaped unhurt before fire crews arrived.

Firefighters arrived about 6:40 a.m., saw flames coming from a two-story, wood frame house at 1026 N. Detroit Ave., and started dousing them. As of about 7:45 a.m., crews were still at the scene.

The cause of the fire was unclear at the time.

The Lucas County auditor's Web site lists Melvin Honig and Gail Odneal as the owners of the house. It was built in 1892.
