Mini bus catches fire

A mini-bus erupted in flames today at a West Toledo gas station.

There were no reports of injury.

Toledo firefighters were called to the scene about 4:35 p.m. and extinguished the fire.

The vehicle had started smoking, and its driver pulled into the gas station parking lot, Toledo fire Lt. Matthew Hertzfeld said. The driver and passenger opened the hood, saw flames, and ran clear. Passersby reported seeing flames several feet above the vehicle and billowing black smoke.

The gas station remained open, Lieutenant Hertzfeld said.
